Kavlico, headquartered in Moorpark, California, US, has designed a pressure sensor, model P265, which utilizes a ceramic capacitive sense element that can withstand exposure to a wide array of compatible liquid and gaseous media. Housed in a 316 stainless steel package, the sensor is excited by 5Vdc and provides a linear amplified output of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc that is proportional to pressure. Designed specifically for pressure measurements of 0-15 through 0-1000PSIA/PSIG, the P265 has low power consumption, long-term stability, and offers repeatability and hysteresis. Other features include over-voltage, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection. The P265 has an operating temperature range of -40 to +125C. The shock and vibration tolerance capabilities of the P265 makes it suitable for applications such as: steam sterilizers, natural gas pressure, CNG and propane engines, marine and agricultural chemical equipment, refrigeration and HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, diesel & gasoline engine pressures, coolant pressure, industrial compressors, and other harsh environment industrial applications. The sensor is available in many standard off-the-shelf configurations or it can be adapted to fit unique OEM application specific requirements. A selection of pressure ports and electrical connectors may be chosen to fit the measurement criteria.
