Outokumpu wins stainless steel rebar order

Outokumpu Long Products, a global leader in the stainless steel industry, with numerous locations throughout the Americas, has won a contract to provide 1,600 metric tons stainless steel rebar for The Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad Al-Sabah project in Kuwait.

The contract is with Hyundai Engineering & Construction of South Korea to supply stainless steel rebar in grade Forta DX 2304 from the Bar Mill in Sheffield, UK supported by a local stock in Doha, Qatar.

The 36 km long causeway project is one of the largest infrastructure projects to be constructed in the Gulf Coast region. The Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Bridge is expected to be in service by the end of 2018.
