Outokumpu supplies 1,000 MT of stainless steel

Outokumpu, a global leader in the stainless steel industry, with numerous locations throughout the Americas, has provided 1,000 metric tonnes of Supra 316L/4404 stainless steel for the China Resources Group headquarters in mainland China. This 392.5-meter-tall skyscraper is currently under construction and set for completion in 2018. The stainless steel was delivered as Deco Linen finished sheets.

Stainless steel is vital for use on projects in coastal regions for its corrosion resistance capacities and reduced maintenance needs. Shenzhen’s seaside location means the air and rain is more corrosive due to the salt and moisture in the climate. The new building employs stainless steel in 56 external columns that support its glass facade, without the need for internal columns to break up open floor plans.
