Outokumpu names new VP and CFO

Outokumpu has appointed Reinhard Florey as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Florey will take the reigns of the new title as of November 1, 2013. Reporting to CEO Mika Seitovirta, he will continue to be a member of the Outokumpu Leadership Team.
“I am very pleased to have Reinhard take on the exciting role of Outokumpu CFO,” said Outokumpu CEO, Mika Seitovirta. “His extensive financial experience and knowledge of the stainless steel industry will be extremely valuable as we drive Outokumpu towards stronger financial results.”
Florey will be taking over the role for Esa Lager, whose intention to leave the position by the end of 2013 was announced in February.
Reinhard Florey’s current position at Outokumpu is as Executive Vice President responsible for strategy and integration. Before joining Outokumpu at the end of 2012, he held several senior leadership positions at McKinsey & Company and ThyssenKrupp AG, including CFO positions for Inoxum GmbH and for ThyssenKrupp Steel Americas LLC.
“I am very much looking forward to this new challenge,” said Reinhard Florey. “We have a number of important projects and improvement efforts ongoing to manage our balance sheet and overall financial performance. I am eager to contribute to the success of these activities in this new role. Ensuring financial stability is a cornerstone of our strategic roadmap, and we will concentrate all our efforts to providing a sound financial foundation for our company’s leadership position in the global stainless steel industry.”
