Outokumpu’s new 253MA® stainless steel

The global stainless steel company, Outokumpu has partnered with Guangdong Strong Metal Technology Co., Ltd. (SMT) to promote its new MA series of heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel.

Industrial furnaces are widely used in various industries. The quality and service life of a furnace greatly depend on its heat-treated components. Currently, austenitic stainless steel is one of the most widely used heat-resistant products for the inner walls and internal parts of industrial furnaces. To improve the performance of the current heat-resistance stainless steel, Outokumpu developed a new series of MA heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel with 253MA® as its leading product.

Compared with the widely-used 310S (1.4858) heat-resistant steel, the new MA product line has the following enhanced features: stronger high tempertaure creep, and greater mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. These properties of the MA series greatly extends the service life of furnace equipments. Due to its low nickel content, the new MA products also offer customers significant reduction in cost, thus economic efficiency.
