New Mexico- based Optomec, a supplier of production grade additive manufacturing systems for 3D printed metals, recently announced it has signed an agreement with Fryer Machine Systems, a producer of high-quality, machine tools. As part of the agreement, Fryer will integrate Optomec LENS metal additive manufacturing solution into its new LaserFab 3D hybrid machining centers. OptomecÂ’s LENS family of 3D metal printers have been used in the industry to cost-effectively repair, rework and manufacture high-performance metal components and wear coatings in materials such as stainless steel, titanium, carbides and super alloys.
The Optomec LENS Print Engine will be integrated into FryerÂ’s new LaserFab 3D hybrid machining centers. Standard features include a 1.5-second 24 tool ATC (Automatic Tool Changer), a 15,000 RPM (revolutions per minute) inline spindle (30,000 RPM option), a high torque 30 high performance motor and a super-fast 1,900 IPM (inches per minute) rapid feed rate.
