Nippon focuses on stainless and titanium plate

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) and Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corporation (NSSC) have decided to concentrate its manufacture from NSSMC’s Naoetsu Works into NSSC’s Yawata Works, also unifying its sales functions into NSSC. This concentration and unification will come into effect from January 2014 onward.
The NSSMC group will continue to further strengthen the titanium plate and specialty stainless steel plate businesses.
Relative to titanium plate now being manufactured at NSSMC’s Naoetsu Works, from the standpoint of structuring an optimal production setup within the NSSMC group, its manufacture will be concentrated into NSSC’s Yawata Works.
