Nickel flux cored electrode

Select-Arc Inc. has introduced a nickel-based, flux cored electrode developed for welding applications requiring superior corrosion and oxidation resistance. SelectAlloy 82-AP is a gas-shielded wire with a nominal weld metal composition of 19% chromium, 3% manganese, 2.5% niobium and a nickel balance. This electrode is primarily utilized for welding alloys 600, 601 and 800 to themselves, for the clad side of joints in steel clad with nickel-chromium-iron alloys and for the dissimilar welding of nickel-based alloys. It is also used for joining carbon steels to nickel alloys and for the surfacing of carbon steels. SelectAlloy 82-AP will perform in all positions. Flat, well washed beads are achieved with minimal weaving and the electrode produces low spatter and good slag peeling. SelectAlloy 82-AP features resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking in chloride contaminated environments, making it suitable for welding in desalination plants. It is also suited for welding applications that span a wide range of temperatures, from cryogenic to elevated, such as piping, furnace equipment, petrochemical facilities and power generation plants.
