Essar Steel Algoma Inc has appointed Mr. Rakesh Kapur as chief financial officer for Essar Steel Algoma effective immediately. The initial chief financial officer, Mr. Amit Agarwal, has been assigned new duties in Mumbai, India, at Essar’s Corporate Office. Mr. Kapur has 25 years of experience as a chartered accountant having held senior positions at Xerox, MEI and Volvo; he will be responsible for all financial functions at Essar Steel. An honours graduate from Delhi Univeristy with a degree in Economics, Mr. Kapur is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administration of London, UK.
