Navistar hosts OSHA Alliance Seminar

Navistar’s Waukesha Foundry (Waukesha, Wisconsin, US) has recently hosted an Introduction to the Foundry seminar for 20 Region V OSHA compliance officers. The event was organized by the AFS/OSHA Alliance. The seminar was conducted by the Cast Metals Institute (CMI) as a shortened version of its Introduction to Metalcasting seminar and taught by Mark Nagel, CMI director of education, and Scott Lammers, AFS technical director. The seminar was augmented by AFS Safety and Health Committee members Tom Slavin, Navistar International (Warrenville, Illinois), Bob Scholz, RMT Inc. (Brookfield, Wisconsin), Jim Brunson, Navistar Waukesha Foundry (Waukesha, Wisconsin), and Fred Kohloff, AFS director of environmental, health and safety (Schaumburg, Illinois). All involved described the result of Waukesha opening its doors to the training as a success. OSHA has asked that it be repeated in other regions.
