Yokogawa Electric Corporation has appointed Chester J. Mroz as the next president and CEO of Yokogawa Corporation of America. A veteran of the process automation industry, Mroz will be responsible for overseeing all Yokogawa business operations in North America. He has held several engineering, managerial, consulting, and senior executive positions with automation, electrical suppliers, and systems integrators throughout his professional career. In recent years Mroz has acted as a strategy consultant and acquisition advisor to small and large firms in the measurement, industrial automation, process equipment, and engineering construction businesses serving the energy and manufacturing markets. Prior to consulting, he maintained key roles at Foxboro, Texas Instruments, and ABB Automation Group Ltd., where he was the President of ABB’s petroleum, chemical and consumer industries business area in Zurich, Switzerland. He was responsible for the development of worldwide business strategy and results at ABB; he was also in charge of overseeing the company’s business in the chemical, hydrocarbon processing and oil & gas industries. Mroz holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, and has attended several advanced university programs for finance, management and process technologies. He serves as a director of Analytical Spectral Devices, Inc. of Boulder, Colorado and is a senior member of the International Society of Automation (ISA).
