Mr Pagano to join AISI policy team

The American Iron & Steel Institute (AISI) has announced that Mr Peter A Pagano will be joining AISI’s policy team on 13 September 2010 as the association’s VP environment. Mr Pagano brings a background in science and environmental policy to the Institute. Most recently, Mr Pagano has served as an advisor to the natural science research units of the Smithsonian Institution. Prior to joining the Smithsonian in 2006, he spent fifteen years at the United States Environmental Protection Agency where his tenure included advising the senior management of the Agency on a range of national program areas. During part of that time, as Air Team Leader for EPA’s Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations Office, he focused on air quality issues and oversaw wide ranging work on multi-pollutant air, energy and transportation legislation. While there, he also worked on all aspects of environmental policy and in developing Agency goals pertaining to congressional and legislative affairs programs.
