Cincinnati,Ohio, US-based Morris Technologies Inc. can now fabricate titanium alloy parts using direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) technology. The company has purchased an M 270Xtended machine, which has titanium and aluminum capabilities. The machine enables the creation of complex internal and external geometries. It also imparts a high strength-to-weight ratio. Morris is a prototyping company that turns designs into production-quality metal parts in hours through its wide range of capabilities, including DMLS. DMLS eliminates tooling, makes parts with complex internal and external geometries in a single operation, and produces multiple parts at the same time. Parts built in EOS titanium Ti64 fulfill the requirements of ASTM F1472 (for Ti-6Al-4V) and ASTM F136 (for Ti-6Al-4V ELI) regarding maximum concentration of impurities.
