MiMtechnik chooses the ExOne Innovent+™

German-based metal injection molding (MIM) supplier, MiMtechnik, has selected the ExOne Innovent+™ to help close a customer order of 600,000 custom fasteners, and cut product development lead times.

The Innovent+ has been created for development and short-run productions. The machine uses the company’s proprietary binder jetting technology, with precision powder dispensing and a new state-of-the-art recoating mechanism. The Innovent+ is also capable of 3D printing many standard powder-injection molding (PIM) feedstocks. This includes a number of stainless steel, tool steel, ceramics and tungsten alloys, which is a feature of particular value to MiMtechnik, seeing as the mechanical and surface finish properties of the end-use MIM parts required high-density 316L alloy.
