Manitoba extends incentives

The provincial government of Manitoba, Canada is extending the Manitoba Drilling Incentive Program for another five years to January 2014. The program offers incentives to encourage investment in the exploration for and development of Manitoba’s petroleum resources. During the past five years, the oil industry has spent CAN 1.5 billion while drilling over 1000 new wells in the province and providing employment for more than 1500 Manitobans. As well, oil production in the province has doubled since 2004 to more than 22,000bpd.
