LNG project for Excelerate

Excelerate Energy L.P. signed a term sheet with Argentina’s ENARSA S.A. and YPF S.A. to construct a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) importation facility in Escobar, north of Buenos Aires. The addition of this facility to the existing GasPort operation in Bahia Blanca, south of Buenos Aires will allow delivery of an additional 500 million cu/ft of natural gas per day to Argentina’s market. Scheduled for completion in May 2011, the Escobar facility will be integrated with Argentina’s current gas transmission utilities. It will accommodate an Excelerate Energy 150,900m³ Energy Bridge Regasification Vessel (EBRV) that receives and regasifies LNG cargos through LNG carriers, utilizing Excelerate’s Ship to Ship Transfer (STS) process alongside the jetty. The EBRV’s allow LNG to be vaporized on the ships so that it can be fed directly into natural gas pipelines. Unlike traditional LNG tankers, EBRV’s can discharge LNG as high pressure natural gas through two methods. When offshore, the vessels discharge gas through the its connection to a Submerged Turret Loading (STL) buoy system. When onshore the vessel uses a high pressure gas manifold at the GasPort to discharge natural gas. The company will provide basic engineering and design support, modular equipment and process control components based on its GasPort technology.
