Lincoln Electric has added the POWER MIG 180 Dual model to its POWER MIG® wire welder line. With single phase 60 Hz dual 120- and 208/230-volt input power capability, this machine is suitable for welding at home, in the shop or out on the job site. The POWER MIG 180 Dual can handle both MIG (GMAW) and flux-cored gas-shielded (FCAW-G) or self-shielded (FCAW-S) processes; it is designed for sheet metal welding, light-frame autobody work and farm and small shop applications. Dual input power capability allows users to select 120-volt input power for home and generator-driven environments or 208/230-volt input power for shop applications on thicker materials.
The dual input power capability also extends the machine’s welding output, allowing for welding on up to 1/2-inch steel with self-shielded, flux-cored wire. The welder offers a wire feeder speed range of 50-500 ipm (1.2-12.7 m/min) and 30-140 amp output range, operating on 120 volts input power or 30-180 amps output range on 208/230 volt input power. The 68 lb. machine is designed around Lincoln Electric’s patented Diamond Core Technology™, delivering a forgiving arc, superior out-of-position arc action, low spatter and an extensive voltage range at a given wire-feed-speed for steel, stainless and aluminum.
