Jim Macki named MTI Fellow

The Materials Technology Institute has named Jim Macki an MTI Fellow. In 1979, Macki served on MTI’s Board of Directors and, after a hiatus from the organization, became an Associate Director in 1995. He retired from The Dow Chemical Company in 1995 after providing 27 years’ of service in numerous materials engineering and management roles. As Executive Director from 1998, Macki helped guide MTI’s growth and other major goals set forth in its Strategic Plan. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from The Ohio State University. Starting in 2000, MTI began recognizing individuals who have played an instrumental role in the development and progression of the organization over a period of at least 10 years. Macki’s many achievements include overseeing the organization’s expansion into Europe and Asia. Becoming a Fellow is the highest honor MTI can bestow upon an individual,” says Ed Naylor, MTI Chair.  “Jim Macki has humbly guided MTI through turmoil, economic instability and good times with fervor and grace such that the organization continues to thrive and demonstrate excellent value for membership. MTI Fellows are those who demonstrate exceedingly high commitment to the health, well-being and future of MTI and the principles for which it stands.”
