Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. was honored by the US Army Corps of Engineers with its highest award– he 2014 Chief of Engineers Award of Excellence in Design–for the design of the Mission Training Complex at Fort Bragg located in North Carolina.
Jacobs provided full-service architecture and engineering, including construction administration, for the new 137,000-square-foot Mission Training Complex. The $28 million facility also received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold Certification for New Construction, the 2013 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northern Virginia Chapter Award of Excellence for Institutional Architecture, and a 2013 AIA DC Chapter Award of Merit.
This combat training complex is a highly functional facility that allows for flexibility and future expansion. It includes modernized classrooms, tactical operations center areas that simulate a combat environment, and work cells with clerestory windows to optimize natural lighting, reduce electricity use and allow natural light to circulate throughout the interior spaces.
