Impact of climate change on the stainless steel market

The power industry purchases a large quantity of stainless steel every year. Coal fired power plants are the biggest purchasers, followed closely by gas turbine combined cycle plants, and nuclear plants.
As climate change regulations impact the amount of power a facility can generate, it stands to reason that stainless revenues for the power industry will vary significantly over the next 30 years, based on modifications made to the climate change regulations.
