IMOA publishes revised duplex brochure

The International Molybdenum Association has published the third edition of “Practical Guidelines for the Fabrication of Duplex Stainless Steels. It has been significantly revised and updated from the second edition published in 2009.

This version of the brochure includes a new chapter on weld overlay, new grades and information on the new formable duplex stainless steels. The classification of duplex stainless steel now includes two categories of lean duplex (lean duplex and molybdenum-containing lean duplex). Product names, specifications and designations have also been updated in the appendices.

Dr. Nicole Kinsman, IMOA’s technical director, has commented, “The second edition has been our most popular website download and has been translated into seven languages other than English, including Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. Although we have retained the overall chapter structure in the new edition, the text has been comprehensively reviewed for better readability and we have added four extra pages and many more new images.”

The third edition is available for free download from the IMOA website.
