Hypertherm launches XPR300

Hypertherm, a US-based manufacturer of plasma, laser and waterjet cutting systems, recently announced the introduction of a new class of plasma called X-Definition. This new plasma is available in a 300 amp plasma system called the XPR300, which is designed for use on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum.

Hypertherm engineers had to develop a number of new patent-pending processes, such as Vented Water Injection (VWI), plasma dampening and vent-to-shield technologies. Hypertherm says the end result is squarer cut edges, markedly less angularity, and excellent surface finish on non-ferrous metals like stainless steel and aluminum.
