The US based manufacturer of advanced cutting systems, Hypertherm, is launching their new air plasma system called Powermax125. It is a novel cutting and gouging system that can deliver the most powerful air plasma compared to any other on the market.
The new system has a recommended cut capacity of 1½’’ inches at speeds of up to 18’’ per minute, although it is able to sever metal more than 2 ¼” thick if the need be. The Powermax125 is also strong at gouging, capable of removing more than 27 pounds of metal/hour. A full 100 percent duty cycle guarantees the system will work in demanding environments for long periods. Coming standard with Smart Sense™ technology, the system includes cut speeds five times faster compared to oxyfuel on ½’’ mild steel, better cut quality than oxyfuel and more torch options.
