Comau has introduced the first two high-speed robots in its S-Family line. The 6-axis robots, with payloads of 13 and up to 18 kg, are designed for assembly, arc welding, and handling applications.

The compact robots can access small spaces and tight areas that are difficult to reach. In addition, they are certified as highly energy efficient in accordance with Fraunhofer procedure instruction, the company reports.

With a protective IP68 hollow-wrist design, the electrical and auxiliary cabling runs inside the wrist to help improve robot agility while minimizing the risk of damage.
