Hobart Fabshield XLR-8 and XLNT-6 wires

Hobart Brothers has released its Hobart Fabshield XLR-8 and Fabshield XLNT-6 self-shielded flux-cored wires for a range of demanding welding applications in a new packaging design. Hobart Brothers’ Fabshield XLR-8 wire offers all-position welding capabilities, while the Fabshield XLNT-6 wire has been designed for flat and horizontal welding applications. Both wires offer good slag removal, along with high impact strengths at low temperatures and are designed to improve productivity on demanding heavy equipment, barge or tank fabrication and field repair applications. They are also suitable for structural steel erection, bridge construction and ship fabrication. The Fabshield XLR-8 wire offers low-hydrogen weld deposits, less than 6.7ml per 100g of weld deposit, and is capable of producing vertical-up welds at high current levels. The Fabshield XLNT-6 wire provides a tensile strength of 87,200lb/in2. Hobart Brothers offers the Fabshield XLR-8 wire in 1/16-, .072- and 5/64in diameters and the Fabshield XLNT-6 wire in 5/64- and 3/32in diameters.
