Harsco wins Vallourec & Sumitomo contract

Harsco Corporation has been awarded a nine-year contract at the new Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil (VSB) tube mill in Brazil. The new mill is a joint venture between Vallourec and Sumitomo Metals aimed at producing seamless steel tubes for the oil, gas and petrochemical markets. The plant will have a steelmaking capacity of 1 million tons of crude steel per year. As per the contract, valued at USD 90 million, Harsco Corporation will provide metals recovery and logistics services to the Brazilian tube mill. Harsco has been expanding its overall presence in Brazil’s industrial markets, having recently announced a new joint venture in Brazil for industrial grating production to serve the region’s growing energy, mining, offshore oil and gas, and infrastructure divisions.
