Mark Jarvis, CEO of Hard Creek Nickel Corp. has announced that Mr Gary Johnson has joined the Board as a Director of the company. Mr Johnson, who lives in Perth, Australia, was for many years a director of Tati Nickel Mining Co. Ltd in Botswana.
Mr Johnson established and led the team at Aqueous Metallurgy Pty Ltd which developed Activox, a process technology for treating sulphide concentrates. Ultimately, Aqueous was acquired from Mr Johnson by LionOre and he became Managing Director of Technology at LionOre. In 2007, Norilsk Nickel bought LionOre for approximately USD 6.5 billion and Mr Johnson became Managing Director, Norilsk Nickel Australia Pty Ltd.
