Greenerd Press & Machine Co. Inc. has built and delivered hydraulic presses to complete three orders, involving machines ranging in capacity from 330tns to 1000tns. All three machines were designed and built at Greenerd’s Nashua, New Hampshire, plant for different US manufacturers. First, the group designed and built a 330tn eight-point, gib-guided press for an automotive and aerospace supplier in the SE. The press was designed to iron CV joints. It delivers 0.001in accuracy in bed-to-ram concentricity. Earlier, Greenerd built a 1000tn, eight-point, gib-guided hydraulic press for a brake-pad manufacturing company in the SW US. This high-speed, high-precision coining press is being used in the manufacturing of heavy-duty aftermarket brake pads. Finally, a triple-action draw press was recently shipped to an aerospace manufacturer in the NE. The press was designed with a 600tn capacity main ram/punch; a 300tn blankholder platen; and 125tn cushion for drawing sheet metal into aerospace and aeronautical components.
