For the past 30 years, Fluor has been providing power plant maintenance and capital project support services to Luminant, a Texas-based electric utility company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corporation. Fluor started working with Luminant in 1984 by performing maintenance and modification services at four of the company’s power units. Now Fluor is responsible for providing support services at 14 power-generating stations for Luminant across the state of Texas. Specifically these stations include 12 lignite-fired units, 11 natural gas-fired units and 15 combustion turbine units. The system has a total capacity of approximately 15,400 megawatts.
“We are honored to celebrate this incredible milestone of providing Luminant with Fluor’s full suite of value-added solutions and services,” said Matt McSorley, president of Fluor’s Power business. “This demonstrates the value we place on long-term relationships with our clients. The success of this alliance is the direct result of valued and trusted communication between both companies and a heavy focus by both organizations to achieve the goals set by Luminant.”
