Fives To Supply Tube Production Line to Husteel’s Texas Facility

Fives has signed a contract with welded tube and pipe manufacturer Husteel, part of South Korea’s Shinan Group, to design and supply a system to manufacture oil country tubular goods.

The line will produce tube and pipe with a diameter of 60 to 114 mm and a wall thickness of up to 10 mm at Husteel’s new $122 million greenfield plant in Splendora, Texas—its first U.S. facility.

The scope of the supply includes a slitter, mill for welded tube and pipe, six-roll straightener, end facer, blow-out station, triple-head hydrostatic tester, dual-head drifter, weight measure stencil and coating stations, and packaging system.
