First iron ore shipment for Eldorado

Eldorado Gold Corporation completed its first iron ore shipment on 2 November 2010. The Vancouver based company produced the iron ore from its Vila Nova Mine located in Amapa State, Brazil. The shipment was sold to the Chinese spot market and contained 45,000mt of lump ore, grading 63% iron. The next shipment will take place in late November 2010 and will consist of an extra 45,000mt of sinter ore. This shipment and ones to follow are part of the 2010 trial mining plan developed to test the plant throughput, ore quality, and transportation logistics. Vila Nova will ship 90,000mt under this plan, in addition to their previous shipments.
