Finalists for the 2010 Awards for Steel Excellence

American Metal Market has announced its finalists for the 2010 Awards for Steel Excellence, which recognize companies that have achieved excellence in at least one of the categories considered vital to business success. The 2010 Awards for Steel Excellence finalists will be recognized at an exclusive Awards Celebration on 22 June during the Steel Success Strategies XXV Conference.   In its inaugural year, the Awards program named 21 finalists across the following categories:
Best Innovation: ArcelorMittal SA; Nucor Corp; Steel Dynamics Inc.
Best Operational Improvements: AK Steel Corp.; ArcelorMittal SA; Latrobe Specialty Steel Co.
Environmental Responsibility/Stewardship: Automotive Applications Council of the American Iron and Steel Institute; The Material Works Ltd.
Logistics/Transportation Provider of the Year: CSX Transportation Inc.; Logistics Plus Inc.
Best Mergers & Acquisitions: Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co.; Worthington Industries Inc.
Steel Producer of the Year: AK Steel Corp.; Steel Dynamics Inc.
Service Center of the Year: MISA Metals Inc.; Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co.; Worthington Industries Inc.

Scrap Company of the Year: David J. Joseph Co.; Tube City IMS LLC.
Industry Ambassador of the Year: American Iron and Steel Institute; Daniel DiMicco, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Nucor Corp.
