Fanuc introduces energy saving robot

Fanuc Robotics has created the R-1000iA/100F, a 100kg robot that consumes less energy than conventional spot welding robots in automated processes. Designed for high-speed handling, particularly spot welding, the R-1000iA/100F’s weight saving design provides low energy consumption. Its slim arm and narrow footprint of 515mm in width reduce cell size significantly. Ceiling or floor mounting options help to ease access and space allocation for tooling in heavily populated manufacturing cells. With a reach of 2.23Mtrs, a single R-1000iA/100F robot can be used to process large work areas. Due to its compact and lighter design, the robots are faster than conventional spot welding robots, offering fast cycle times with repeatability of +/-0.2mm. They can be used for general-purpose applications, but are also suitable for operation in aggressive environments including waterjet cutting and casting applications. Its wrist and joint three are sealed against water and dust to IP67 standard. The robot runs with Fanuc Robotics’ intelligent controller, the R-30iA series, which allows control of up to 40 multiple axes.
