Expansion for aerospace production facility

Aerospace company D-M Tool and Fabrication is investing USD $1.8 million for a 22,000-square-foot addition to its Sterling Heights Facility, based in Michigan, US. The company produces weldments for the automotive and aerospace industries, also providing fabrication and welding services for stainless steel, aluminum, steel and nickels materials. Currently, its Sterling Heights facility has reached its full capacity, meaning there is no more room to add machinery and equipment, employees, materials or inventory.

The expansion project should take 8 to 10 months to complete and does not require more land. The new addition will allow the company to be able to bid on larger volume programs, with the new area being 3 feet higher than the existing building. Once the project has been completed, there will be an additional 30 new jobs, which includes 20 in manufacturing and 10 in engineering.
