According to Statistics Canada, Canada’s real gross domestic product grew an annualized 3.3% in the fourth quarter of 2010 due to oil and gas extraction, mining and improving exports. The GDP rose 0.8% over the previous quarter as exports increased by 4%. Natural gas production and oil extraction both increased, bringing the mining sector up 2% for December. Canada’s 3.3% improvement is better than the 2.8% real GDP increase in the United States.
