The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has reported that world crude steel production (including stainless steel) was approximately 136.3 million tons (Mt) in November 2017, which is a 3.7 increase compared to November 2016.
The United States of America produced approximately 6.7 Mt of crude steel in November 2017, which is an increase of roughly 8.5% compared to the same time period in 2016. Brazils production for November 2017 was 3.0 Mt, which is an increase of 15.3% compared to the same month in 2016.
The crude steel capacity utilisation ratio of the 66 countries in November 2017 was 70.7%. This is 1.5 percentage points higher than November 2016. Compared to October 2017, it is 2.2 percentage points lower.
