Crude Steel production in Nov. 2017

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has reported that world crude steel production (including stainless steel) was approximately 136.3 million tons (Mt) in November 2017, which is a 3.7 increase compared to November 2016. 

The United States of America produced approximately 6.7 Mt of crude steel in November 2017, which is an increase of roughly 8.5% compared to the same time period in 2016. Brazil’s production for November 2017 was 3.0 Mt, which is an increase of 15.3% compared to the same month in 2016. 

The crude steel capacity utilisation ratio of the 66 countries in November 2017 was 70.7%. This is 1.5 percentage points higher than November 2016. Compared to October 2017, it is 2.2 percentage points lower.
