CoroMill 345 simplifies stainless milling

Milling stainless steel can bring with it many different challenges including problems with chip formation, tool life and productivity. However, CoroMill 345’s latest insert geometries are designed to specifically deal with these challenges.

The CoroMill 345 offers light cutting action and low forces, which help achieve a high metal removal rate and greater throughput. It can also be used on small taper machines (ISO 30 and ISO 40 machines) and in vibration sensitive applications or where there are weak features.

The machine has eight edges, four on each side and even though they sit negatively in the cutter, a very high rake ensures positive, light cutting, which promotes excellent chip formation in stainless steel. If a brilliant surface finish is sought a wiper insert is also available. Internal coolants are even available for cutters up to 125mm in diameter.
