ConocoPhillips completes final Bayu-Undan well

The ConocoPhillips-led group at the Bayu-Undan gas-condensate field in the Timor Sea, has reported the completion of its three infill well program, which is comprised of two platform wells and one subsea well connecting into the existing offshore infrastructure. The third and final well was brought online on Monday, Dec. 3, meaning the program completed three months ahead of schedule, and 40 per cent under budget.

Being completed ahead of schedule has resulted in higher liquids production and increased offshore well capacity.

The wells were drilled with the Noble Tom Prosser rig, which has now been contracted by Adelaide-based Santos Ltd. to undertake several wells, including an appraisal of the recent Dorado oil discovery off Western Australia.
