Climax Portable Machining & Welding Systems, which specializes in design and manufacture of portable on-site machining and welding tools, has named Mr. Scott Kunkler as the new vice president (VP) of global quality and engineering. He began his new role on March 31 at the headquarters in Newberg, Oregon.
Mr. Kunkler has 29 years of experience in professional engineering. Until joining the Climax team, he was the VP of engineering at CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense, a global provider of highly engineered technology, service and system solutions for aerospace and defense applications. During his time there, he managed the development of components and subcontracted systems for Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
As part of the engineering team, Mr. Kunkler will work to improve and engineer efficiencies by seeking innovative repair and maintenance solutions to drive growth and profitability. He will be directly responsible for analyzing and developing improvements to Climax’s quality system and design processes as well as manufacturing and application engineering processes.
