China exported 2.7M tons of steel products to Lati

According to Alacero, the Latin American Steel Association, Latin America represented 10 per cent of the exports of manufactured iron and steel products from China to the world between January and November 2012, reaching 2.7 million tons, 8 per cent more than in the same period of 2011.
Between January and November 2012, the main importing countries of manufactured iron and steel products were Venezuela (536,200 tons), representing 20 per cent of the region, followed by Brazil (491,707 tons) and Chile (318,456 tons), accounting for 18 per cent and 14 per cent of the region respectively.
During this period, Venezuela increased its imports from China by 119 per cent compared to 2011.
In November 2012, China exported 271,609 tons of manufactured iron and steel products to Latin America, which was 29 per cent more than in October, 2012.
In November 2012, Venezuela, with 74,825 tons, attracted the most part of Chinese exports to the region, followed by Brazil with 42,206 tons.
