Hard Creek contracts Norilsk

Hard Creek Nickel Corp. has contracted Norilsk Process Technology Pty Ltd (NPT) to determine the viability of the Activox technology as the hydrometallurgical process to extract nickel and cobalt from the Turnagain deposit concentrate.

Duplex joining electrode

Arcos Industries LLC, located in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, now offers new bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes, Arcos 2209, which are designed for joining 22% chromium duplex stainless steels including 2205.

High temperature welding electrode

Select-Arc Inc., headquartered in Ohio, US, has introduced a stainless steel, metal cored electrode designed for welding when elevated temperatures are involved.

Electrodes for pipe welding

Lincoln Electric, headquartered in Ohio, US has added three new electrodes - the Pipeliner LH-D80, LH-D90 and LH-D100 - to its line of Pipeliner products.

EB diamond grinding discs

CS Unitec, based in Connecticut, US, has released the new Eco Brazing (EB) diamond grinding discs reduce sparking to 1% of that produced by resinoid wheels, making these discs suitable for use in hazardous environments such as nuclear plants, and oil and gas industries.

RathGibson appoints Schwartz as CEO

RathGibson has appointed Michael Schwartz to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr Schwartz joined RathGibson in April 2008 as the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Rolled Alloys Inc. has elected Mr Paul K Whitcraft director of quality, safety and engineering as the chairman of the 2009 ASTM International board of directors.

Hypertherm acquires MTC Software

Hypertherm has announced the acquisition of the core assets of MTC Software, a developer of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software used by the sheet and plate processing industry.
