In the USA, a ferritic-martensitic dual-phase grade has found favor, but duplex grades are being assessed and more frequently applied.

The torch can weld stainless steel to stainless steel or conductive materials such as copper to nickel or stainless steel, making it suitable for applications such as tack welding for medical devices and battery tab welding.
