Shell Global signs Iraq refinery deal
Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (Shell Global Solutions) has entered into an agreement with the South Refineries Company of Iraq, for the provision of technology licenses to a refinery in Basrah, Southern Iraq. Praj wins Colombia ethanol plant project
Praj Industries Limited has won a contract for a large Ethanol plant from Isolux Corsan, the main contractors for the Bioenergy S.A. project. As per the contract, Praj will supply the main process plant for ethanol production including the concentration of vinasse for use as liquid fertilizer.
Quaker City Castings expands
Quaker City Casting (QCC) vice president Geoff Korff has reported that the company has purchased a 51,000sq/ft building adjacent to its operation. It plans to reorganize its operations by relocating its secondary processes POSCO now No. 2 stainless maker globally
POSCO is now the world’s No. 2 stainless steel producer, after expanding the capacity of its Chinese stainless steel JV. The company also intends to list the JV in Hong Kong or Shanghai after 2013. Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel (ZPSS) has completed construction on additional facilities
Blue Dolphin to acquire crude processing facility
Blue Dolphin Energy Co. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Nixon Crude Processing Facility (Nixon Facility) from a privately held company in an all-stock transaction. Located on the border between Gonzales and Wilson Counties in Nixon, Texas 
Sandmeyer Steel Company has appointed Richard Zakrzewski as District Sales Manager of the Midatlantic sales territory which includes eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and southeastern New York. 
TransMontaigne Partners L.P. (TLP) and Blueknight Energy Partners, L.P. (BKEP) have entered into agreements for the construction and operation of 1,000,000 barrels of crude oil storage adjacent to BKEP's Cushing, Oklahoma facility. 
Special Metals Corp. will relocate operations from Rockford, Illinois, to Elkhart, Indiana, generating up to 100 new jobs by 2014. The producer of high-nickel, high-performance engineering alloys will move its A-1 Wire division, which manufactures stainless steel and nickel alloy wire 
Suriname's state-owned oil company, Staatsolie, signed an agreement with Saipem S.p.A for the engineering, procurement and construction of its new oil refinery at Tout Lui Faut, 20 kilometers south of Paramaribo. 
Petrobras has acquired 50% of the capital stock of BSBIOS Industria e Comercio de Biodiesel Sul Brasil S.A. through its wholly owned subsidiary Petrobras Biocombustivel S.A. Pbio. Located in Passo Fundo-RS, the company operates a biodiesel plant integrated with a vegetable oil extraction unit.
