Carpenter Technology Corporation has launched PROJECT 70®+ PDB™ stainless steel, a new family of machining bar designed specifically for use with CNC Swiss-style screw machines.
The new offering will be stocked and available for delivery in standard boxed quantities for shipment within the contiguous United States.
The highly engineered bars are precision drawn to ASTM half standard or ISO H9 tolerances and possess characteristics that can help fabricators and machine shops maximize their productivity. PROJECT 70+ PDB stainless attributes include chamfered ends, improved straightness and tighter OD tolerances for consistent size along the entire length of the bar and minimal ‘out of round’ condition.

“This latest offering from Carpenter demonstrates our continued commitment to the machining market,” said Carpenter’s Vice President – Bar, Wire, Strip and Plate Products, Carol R. Jackson. “Customers who ran PROJECT 70+ PDB bar during our trial phase reported greater reliability and productivity through their CNC Swiss-style screw machines, while still enjoying all of the benefits of Carpenter’s premium machining bar.”
