Canadian Superior drills well in Trinidad

Canadian Superior Energy Inc. has successfully drilled the 26in hole section of the “Endeavour” well in Trinidad and has run and cemented in place the 20in casing string to a depth of 3,030ft subsea. The “Endeavour” well was spudded on 28 August 2008 and the 36in surface hole section was drilled successfully and the 30in surface conductor casing was run and cemented in place. Following necessary drilling operations, including the installation of the marine riser and the blowout preventer, drilling will re-commence. The next section of the well to be drilled will reach just over 5,000ft subsea. The “Endeavour” well is planned to be drilled to a total vertical depth of approximately 18,000ft subsea in about 1,000ft of water and is expected to take approximately 100 days to drill. The “Endeavour” well is being drilled by the Kan Tan IV semi-submersible drilling rig.
