Canada initiates probe

On 12 November 2008, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated a probe on stainless steel wire imports. The move came due to an expiry of a review made on 23 December 2003 concerning the dumping of certain stainless steel wire originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea, Switzerland and the USA and the subsidizing of such product originating in or exported from India. As a result, the President of the Canada Border Services Agency initiated an investigation on 13 November 2008, to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and or subsidizing of the goods.
