Bennett new VP and treasurer of Chevron

Chevron has appointed Paul V. Bennett as vice president and treasurer, effective 1 May 2011. Having served in several senior corporate and operating financial positions, including oversight of Chevron’s credit and receivables operations, Bennett is highly qualified to guide financing strategies for the company’s overall corporate capital structure as well as their major development projects. He is broadly experienced in treasury and risk management and in his current position, Bennett played an instrumental role in helping to streamline the Downstream and Chemicals business, transforming it into a more profitable, lower-cost organization. He joined Chevron in 1980 as a financial analyst in the Comptroller’s department and over the course of his career, Bennett took on finance positions of increasing responsibility including manager, Tax Compliance and Audits, Chevron U.S.A. Inc.; manager, Logistics and Trading Accounting, Chevron Products Company; vice president, Finance and Administration, P&M Coal Mining Co.; assistant treasurer, Credit and Receivables Management, Chevron Corporation; and general manager, Finance Shared Services, Chevron Services Company. His current position as vice president of Finance, Downstream and Chemicals began in 2009. Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He will succeed Pierre R. Breber, who has been appointed deputy managing director of Chevron’s Asia South Business Unit in the company’s international exploration and production business.
