Atlas Stamping gets Senator’s stamp of approval

Atlas Stamping and Manufacturing Corp. (Atlas), of Newington, Connecticut, was recognized last week by U.S. Senator, Chris Murphy, as the featured “Monday Manufacturer” on his website.
Using stainless steel, nickel, cobalt alloys, aluminum and other high-temperature specialty metals, Atlas is a full-service metal stamping shop that manufactures assemblies, brackets, gaskets, washers, shims and seals. It serves the aerospace, defense and commercial industries, including Wesco Aircraft, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the U.S. government and Connecticut’s Pratt & Whitney and PW Power Systems.

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut, said Murphy, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,602 manufacturers account for 10.2 percent of the state’s jobs and 87 percent of the state’s total exports.
