ATC names new VP

American Transmission Co. named John Flynn vice president of Business Development, effective 15 November 2010. A graduate from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Flynn will be responsible for leading ATC in its plan to expand their electric transmission development opportunities outside of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The company currently owns, operates and maintains the high voltage electric transmission system supplying portions of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois. Flynn has taken on many key transmission leadership roles at American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio, including managing director of strategic planning, director of finance and business development for AEP Transmission, president of Pioneer Transmission (a joint venture between AEP and Duke Energy), and executive vice president of Electric Transmission America (a joint venture between AEP and MidAmerican Holdings). He has been in charge of financial, regulatory, and policy responsibilities with Northeast Utilities, Progress Energy and Arthur Anderson throughout his 20 year career in the energy industry.
