Article: Leak prevention in a 100-year-old refinery

Stainless Steel World Americas conducted an end-user interview with Mr. Wilkerson, Supervisor of Air Fugitives at the Golden Eagle Refinery in Contra Costa County, California.

During our conversation, Wilkerson shared how Tesoro was founded in 1968 and was primarily focused on petroleum exploration and production. The company eventually shifted its focus to refining and is now one of the leading independent refining, marketing, and logistics companies in the United States. 

Wilkerson was also delighted to discuss how he ended up in an environmental role, what some of the main causes of leaks are at the plant, and what measures are are taken to prevent them from occurring.
